FTSE erases gains after a gap-up opening

FXStreet (Mumbai) - The London’s Ftse index gave up its gains to trade on a flat note after opening higher, since most European markets are nervous ahead of the Greek presidential vote today.

The Ftse index currently trades 0.14% higher at 6619.30, compared to the previous session’s close at 6609.93, and down from the today’s opening price of 6655.30. The index breadth is still positive with an advance-decline ratio of 59:39. The Ftse Industrial Metals and Mining index is down 1.98%, while the Telecom index is down by 1.43%. Oil and Gas index and Bank index are down 0.23% and 0.20% respectively.

Among stocks, Petrofac is the top loser for the day; down 1.94%, followed by BT group; down 1.73%. RSA Insurance and Tullow Oil are down 1.52% and 1.29% respectively. Meanwhile, on the plus side, Fresnillo is the top gainer for the day; up 3.22%, followed by Randgold; up 2.62%. BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto are up 2.41% and 1.99% respectively.

Ftse Technical Levels

The immediate support is seen at 6586, followed by another support at 6559.56 levels. Meanwhile, resistance is seen at 6620 and 6655.30 levels.
