Fed’s Evans: Dot plot forecast for 2 rate hikes is plausible but there could be fewer
Chicago Federal Reserve President Charles Evans was on the wires earlier today, speaking about the US economy, Fed rate hike outlook and the US-China trade spat in an interview with Bloomberg TV.

Fed can easily be patient now, in a good position.
Fed well positioned to assess data as it comes in.
Slower Europe, China growth, tariffs all factors.
Outlooks are for continued above-trend growth but some slowdown.
We are at a good point to pause.
Not worried about inflation getting out of hand.

Think China has definitely turned softer.
The longer the government shut down last the more problems it causes, it’s not good for the economic outlook.
